Damien Mu
General manager, Life Insurance, AIA Australia
Mu joined AIA Australia in April 2007 as national manager of client development and moved into the role of head of group insurance in early 2008. During this time, he has played a key role in developing and expanding the company’s group insurance business market share.
In August 2009, Mu was appointed to the role of chief distribution and marketing officer before recently moving to his current role, in which he assumes overall responsibility for group insurance, direct distribution and individual life channels, including product management and pricing. In this time the company has seen positive growth across all three channels. In addition, Mu manages the marketing function across the business.
Prior to joining AIA Australia, Mu held various roles, including operations manager for AustralianSuper and national manager of insurance and claims services at Superpartners. He has also worked in the retail master trust environment at both Colonial and Norwich Union.
